How to fix Error 56 in iOS 9.3.2 for 9.7 inch iPad Pro

With some of the most recent iOS updates, many users had difficulty completing the firmware upgrade process successfully without any interruption. For example, when Apple dropped iOS 9.3, most iPhone and iPad users received the activation error on their devices. In addition, minor and internal problems were also encountered after the new firmware was installed.

Recently, Apple has just released iOS 9.3.2 and it is certainly causing some problems for some iPad Pro users. Specifically, blocking their 9.7-inch device with the Error 56 message. According to several iPad Pro owners, this problem occurred after they tried to download the latest version of iOS 9.3 using the OTA method, which means going to the General Settings application.

Shortly after that, the problem known as Error 56 appeared, which now asks users to connect their iPad to a computer and open iTunes. According to the documentation on Apples website, this has something to do with the hardware rather than the usual software update issue.

To fix this problem, users are advised to try one of the following:

  • Download and install the latest version of iTunes
  • Restore your device via iTunes
  • Contact Apple technical support as a last resort

Hopefully, Apple is aware of this problem and will release another update soon.
