11 tips to get the best deals on Apple devices and accessories this Black Friday
Its November, which means Black Friday and Cyber Monday are just around the corner. It also means you might be in the mood for some great deals on Apple products.
The annual sales event can offer a good opportunity to get an Apple product at a discount or with additional benefits. With that in mind, here are some general tips for Black Friday shopping and some specific tricks for getting an Apple computer at a discount.
Black Friday General Tips
Whether you are specifically looking for Apple products or not, there are a variety of tips and tricks to keep in mind as Black Friday approaches.
This will not apply to Apple devices specifically. But depending on the retailer you are looking at, they might be useful if you are looking to get a great deal on Apple products.
1. Start early
Depending on when you are reading this, Black Friday may still be a week or two away. But that doesnt mean you cant start buying great deals right now.
In recent years, more and more retailers have started offering “early” Black Friday sales well before the actual event. In fact, the entire month of November is almost a month of offers on various items.
2. Plan ahead
You cant really expect to get great deals on Black Friday without a little preparation. We recommend that you check out some filtered ads in advance, and there are some excellent online resources that will allow you to do so.
Some of those options include BDAads.net , BestBlackFriday.com , TheBlackFriday.com and GottaDeal . If you register with these sites, you can also receive category-specific alerts sent to your email.
3. Consider a loyalty program
Many retailers offer offers and promotions exclusively to their rewards members or credit card holders. (Best Buy comes to mind, although there are others). Youll be much better off if you sign up in advance.
We also recommend looking at your existing options to offset the cost of new products on Black Friday. If you already have reward points somewhere, consider shopping there. If you are a Prime subscriber, check out Apples products on Amazon. Youll get a discount and free shipping.
4. Look at the social pages
Retailers are increasingly using a social networking strategy to spread the word about their Black Friday offerings. We suggest you take advantage of that and follow all your favorite stores and retailers on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
You may find out about a deal on an Apple device that you would otherwise not have seen. More than that, many retailers will specifically reward customers who follow them online.
5. Trench Black Friday for Cyber Monday
Unless you are especially committed to the idea of getting up very early to be first in line at a store, you may want to give up on Black Friday altogether. There are other options
That includes Cyber Monday, which is the Monday after Thanksgiving. In fact, on these days, the entire Black Friday weekend is often your own sales event, particularly from the online retailers mentioned above.
Black Friday Apple Deals
Apple periodically holds its own Black Friday sales events. And while it never discards its own products, it has offered a “cash back” gift card during sales events.
While you may be able to find better deals from Apple elsewhere, that wont always be the case. Whether you buy from Apple or an outside retailer, keep these tips in mind.
6. Dont forget exchanges
If you are reading this and are looking for new Apple devices to buy, you probably have an older iPhone, iPad or MacBook Pro. Unless you need to keep it for some reason, we recommend that you take a look at the Apple exchanges.
You may be able to get even more discount from an Apple product, as well as more general rewards or discounts on Black Friday. Just make sure you back up all your data and plan how to transfer it first.
7. Look at your carriers
You may not think much of your carriers during the Black Friday shopping season, but you may want to get started. Depending on the type of device youre looking for, you may be able to get great promotional offers during the sales event.
However, this will generally only apply to iPhones, iPads or Apple Watches. So, if you are looking for a new laptop or Mac desktop computer, you will want to search for electronics stores or Apple itself.
8. Use your Apple card
We are not financial experts, so we will not recommend readers to apply for the Apple Card if they do not need it. But for users who already have the Apple-sponsored credit card, Black Friday can be a great option.
The card offers a 3 percent cash back on any Apple purchase, which can be considerably more than most other cash back credit cards. Better yet, its Daily Cash. By using it, youll have the money back in your hands by the end of the day.
9. Dont buy older Apple products
If you plan to buy Apple products directly from the company, try to opt for newer devices. Depending on the antigüedad of a specific device, you can probably find better deals elsewhere.
Newer products, such as the iPhone 11 Pro or the recently dropped 16-inch MacBook Pro, can be excellent choices. You probably wont find them with large discounts anywhere else. And if you buy them from Apple, you may get some special benefits as a result.
10. Stack your gift cards
While we dont know exactly what kind of special offer Apple will launch this Black Friday, they will probably still be gift cards. A good tip is to simply save the gift cards until next years Black Friday shopping event to offset the cost even more.
Apple Gift Cards have no terms or conditions and no expiration date. So keep them in a safe place and be sure to ask Siri to remind you that you will get them next year.
11. Meet the retailers
When it comes to getting Black Friday deals on Apple products, there are some retailers you should be aware of. This year, that includes Best Buy, Costco, Walmart and Target.
You can also find some good options in online stores such as B&H Photo or Amazon. The latter site, in particular, is known for its strong discount even on new Apple products.
